Ad campaign to promote Honda’s new vehicle the Brio, using illustrated typography to highlight the reliability of the car in contrast with the often unpredictable tastes of the young target buyer. Art direction by DDB Johannesburg. Illustrations drawn in graphite on paper with color added in Photoshop.
Some little bits and pieces from sketches for a logo commission! It’s a really fun one, and is reminding me that I really need to do hand lettering more often.
I’ve just posted new work to the Illustration, Typography, and Fine Art sections of my site. Check them out!
In the past few weeks I’ve been lucky enough to receive a lot of press and awards…
Two of my pieces (Braided and The Person You Love Is 72.8% Water) were accepted into CMYK’s Top 100 New Creatives Vol. #50. Work selected by award-winning illustrator Nora Krug. The issue will hit newsstands in June.
I was recently featured and interviewed in EMBROSYST web magazine’s 8th issue, Black & White, along with artists Ana Elisa Soares, April Elizabeth, Daniel Caballero, Eleanor Leonne Bennet, Hanae Seida, Hendrik Ferdiansyah, Jan Goldfuß, Karol Gadzala, Aka Yllv, Kim Daehyun, Oleksandr Hnatenko, Sasi Tanadeerojkul, & Sidney Eileen.
In March my piece Everything Is A Cycle was accepted into my school’s annual juried art show, Made@MCAD, and also received one of three top Juror’s Awards. The exhibition was juried by Jennifer Phelps.
Finally, I entered MCAD’s annual merit competition, and was one of two students selected from the Design Department to win the 2011-2012 Senior Design Merit Scholarship, which goes towards my tuition for next year!
